The Company of Saint Anne’s

We really only have one frequently asked question, and that is, Why St. Anne’s Public House? As for the St. Anne’s part, that is for short the Company of St. Anne’s, a group of very average people who fight off the evil nasties of N.I.C.E in C.S Lewis’ novel, That Hideous Strength. We liked the idea that God uses pretty average people doing average things for His glory. The “Public House” part of the name came from an inspiring talk by Dr. Roy Atwood. The Public Houses and Coffee Houses of 17th Century England were places for public discourse. So it is the discourse, more than the alcohol, that we are emphasizing. But we do enjoy a nice glass of Shiraz now and again. And if you are curious about who make up the Company, following are some short bios.

JOOST NIXON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER

Finding themselves mutually deprived of roommates, Joost and Kristen married in January of 1993. Together they have five stout sons and one very well-protected daughter. Receiving his M. Div in 1996, Joost was ordained, packaged and shipped with his family to South Africa, where they were missionaries. Joost became pastor of Christ Church (Spokane) in 2001. He is a contributing editor to Credenda/Agenda magazine, and has an affection for carnivorous plants.

PATRICK BELFAST, PRODUCER

Patrick Belfast is the alter ego for a chap “Who was born with the gift of laughter and a sense that the world was mad.” Mr. Belfast has been to every corner of American Christendom, seen the belly of the beast, and poked it in the poochy tummy.

STUART BRYAN, CONTRIBUTOR

Stuart has a bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies from Whitworth College and an MA from Reformed Theological Seminary. He Pastors Trinity Church in Coeur d’Alene. Stuart is married to Paige, and together they have six children—each with their own goat.

ERIC ROBINSON – CONTRIBUTOR/WEB-NINJA

Eric Robinson knows everything about computers, but why God would bless him with such a wonderful family is still a mystery to him.

ERIC FUGITT, CONTRIBUTOR

The father of three sons, Eric has taught for many years at The Oaks Classical Christian Academy, and is chucking it all to open a bistro with his wife, Debbie.

WARREN LEWIS, CONTRIBUTOR

If Warren were a bottle of wine, he would be a very dry Sauvignon Blanc. Though Warren earns his living as a computer programmer, he moonlights as a superhero, complete with tights. His wife Nancy, and three talented children are all unaware of his alter-ego. Shhhhh.

REBECCA STEWART, CONTRIBUTOR

Rebecca is distinguished in the Company of St. Anne’s as being the only one having any real class. Married with two children, Rebecca also has an MFA in creative writing from Eastern Washington University.
